Statistical Analyses of the Non-Uniform Longitudinal Temperature Distribution in Steel Box Girder Bridge

چکیده

The frequently conventional assumption that bridge temperature is uniformly distributed on long-span bridges could lead to uncertainty when analyzing effects. This study investigated the surface of steel box girders a suspension bridge, emphasizing distribution characteristics in longitudinal (spanwise) direction. girder was monitored using long-term structural health monitoring system (SHMS). First, probability density functions (PDF) were analyzed. results showed PDFs had bimodal and be well-fitted weighted superposition two normal distributions. Meanwhile, there an obvious difference between measuring points at different sections which inconsistent with Subsequently, distributions statistically analyzed, polynomial introduced fit curves along left right sides mid-span. A correlation analysis then performed, highlighting variability Additionally, pattern summarized as (i) highest mid-span, lowest tower, increasing side span; (ii) also significant differences Finally, time- space- studied, contour map displayed. three-dimensional spatial not only non-uniformly space but time. work useful for more accurate effects bridges.

Load Test and Model Calibration of a Horizontally Curved Steel Box-Girder Bridge

In this paper, full scale load test of a horizontally curved steel box-girder bridge is carried out in order to detect structural defects, which reportedly result in unwanted vibrations in nearby buildings. The bridge is tested under the passage of six heavy vehicles at different speeds, so as to determine its static and dynamic responses. A total number of one hundred and two (102) sensors are...

OPTIMAL DESIGN OF NON-PRISMATIC REINFORCED CONCRETE BOX GIRDER BRIDGE: MINIMIZATION OF THE COST AND CO2 EMISSION

This paper presents a computational framework for optimal design of non-prismatic reinforced concrete box girder bridges. The variables include the geometry of the cross section, tapered length, concrete strength and reinforcement of box girders and slabs. These are obtained by the enhanced colliding bodies optimization algorithm to optimizing the cost and again CO2 emission. Loading and design...

Drying and Cracking Effects in Box-girder Bridge Segment

This paper deals with the effect of drying as a moisture diffusion process in a segment of a typical box-girder bridge. Pore relative humidity distributions throughout the cross sections of the plates of the girder are calculated from the diffusion equation, taking its nonlinearity and aging into account. The effect of creep with aging on the stresses produced by drying shrinkage is taken into ...
